IMPORTANT EQUIPMENTS FOR CLIMBING

Clothing

  1. Pairs of Underwear
  2. Top and Bottom Base Layer – I recommend Smart wool or Icebreaker –
     Men’s and Women’s.
  3. 3-4 Short Sleeve and 1-2 Long Sleeve Trekking Shirts – Men’s and Women’s
  4. 1-2 Pairs of Hiking Trousers – Men’s and Women’s
  5. 1 Polartec Fleece Jacket – Men’s and Women’s 
  6. 1 Insulated Winter Jacket – Men’s and Women’s (Columbia do a cheap and cheerful
    option, otherwise go for Marmot, The North Face or Arc’teryx.
  7. 1 Insulated Trekking Pants – basically hiking pants with a fleece inner.
  8. 1 Wind Shell Jacket – Men’s and Women’s
  9. If your wind shell jacket isn’t waterproof then get a lightweight rain jacket instead –
     Men’s and Women’s

Headgear

  1. Sun Hat, ideally with a neck cover – Men’s and Women’s
  2. Warm Beanie or Fleece Headband
  3. Bandana or Neck Gaiter – Tough Outfitters make some good fleeced options.
  4. Headlamp – Pletzl is a great option.
  5. Sunglasses
  6. Hands and Walking warmer
  7. Lightweight Inner Gloves – Men’s and Women’s
  8. Warm Outer Gloves / Mitts – Men’s and Women’s (I recommend Eiger, Black Diamond,
    Outdoor Research or The North Face)
  9. Adjustable Trekking Poles – here are some good options (I recommend Leki, Black
    Diamond Alpine or in the UK – TYTN)

Footwear

  1. Mid-weight hiking boots – Men’s and Women’s (I recommend Salomon, Merrell,
    Columbia or Keen)
  2. 4-5 Pairs of trekking socks – Men’s or Women’s (I recommend Smart Wool or Darn
    Tough)
  3. 1 Pair of warm/thick trekking socks – Smart wool is best!
  4. Bags and Daypack
  5. 20-30L Daypack – Osprey Talon 22
  6. Daypack rain cover
  7. Travel bag organizers (optional)

Sleeping Accessories

  1. 4-Season sleeping bag – see good options 
  2. Insulated sleeping mat- see good options
